PS. Are you interested in a photography contest? It is happening in Nelson on April 1st- April 10th and involves taking pictures of the architectural heritage of Nelson…hence the picture for today’s post. Leave a comment saying ya or na.

Grade 9s don’t panick! Your projects will be due next Thursday, that means you have 3 classes to complete this project…don’t waste any time!

Have any of you tried to insert more than one photo per line, so that your blog is not such a long column?

Here’s the trick: 1st go to Plugins and Activate the Wordpress option at the very bottom. 2nd upload some photos to blogsome. 3rd write a post and use the insert image option (the yellow disk like icon). 4th click on the image and then create a thumbnail 5th choose thumbnail with link to full size and insert.

Notice a very special feature if you click an image.

So today’s extra assignment is for you to insert at least 4 pics that mean something to you into a post that explains why these things are important to you in a short paragraph.

This course does count for credits and your marks are important so WHY are so many of you not keeping up with the assignments???? The Jegs Quiz Assignments are extremely heavy in terms of marks, while the Word Processing Series all add up to quite a bit. You have missed the deadline for these assignments to be handed in but because you only come in every second day I am feeling sympathetic. You have until next Friday at the latest to complete these exercises. They can be done at home or at lunch if need be. Click on the link to access all the files: Zipped Series. Remember your task is to finish Series 1: Q1-Q7 & Series 2: Q1-Q4…get it done!!

Beautiful Lake Okanagan, serenity at last! Here I played 2 rounds of golf, went nordic skiing, downhill skiied, and played tennis.

1. How was your Spring Break? Make a POST describing what you were up to; it must be at least five sentences long and a picture related to it would be super. Once you finish your post your must read at least five other blogs and leave a comment on their blog not mine for today.

2. Today I would like you to watch the video I created using Windows MovieMaker. There are three parts and I would like you to rate or comment on each part, however, you will need to create a Youtube account in order to do so. Go to Youtube and in the search box type in ‘Blu Anglz’, you should notice three parts. Of course you cannot watch these videos without sound, you must get some headphones!

3. Hopefully you enjoyed the videos and feel inspired to make a movie of your own, however, you must first finish your 1-2 minute COMMERCIAL.

4. If you have finish all of this, you rock, perhaps you should check with me to see if you are missing any assignments. I did a whole lot of marking over the break and there are many missing assignments!

Never fear my trustee assistant Super Grover is here! Yes, in a day and age of connectedness through the World Wide Web almost everything is possible. The lack of a properly functioning lab network and possibly no U:drive or T:drive will NOT stop your ability to access the Word Processing Series. I have uploaded them all in a zipped folder to Zoomshare.

1. You better have finished all the Jegs Quizzes 1-3 and have them handed in.

2. The absolute final day for the Word Processing Series to be completed is March 15th. You can access them from your home computer by clicking on this link: Zipped SeriesAnother key thing I would like you to do is not send each assignment individually, rather if you must put them all in a folder titled Word Processing Series, right click on the folder, choose Send To, then click on Compressed (zipped) Folder…the new icon that appears can then by attached to an email you send me. Put your name in the Subject line please and the Series Number.

Other than that, my apologies to those students that accomplished everything on time and felt like they wanted more to do. You should be playing around with Fruity Loops to come up with your THEME song. If you are unable to access the T:drive I have provided you with some links to allow you to download the program into your U:drive or even just to the C:drive temporarily for today to practice working with the program.

1. Today make a POST for your PARENTS, even if your parents are not coming tonight you will receive a mark for this post.

2. Some of you are kickin’ it live…but there are some major stragglers among you. I have been talling up the finished assignments and a number of you have not handed in the 3 Jegs Quizzes, which are due by Friday (otherwise you will receive zero). There are also many Word Processing Assignments not in my Yahoo Inbox? All of this work will be marked over the Spring Break and your grades will be tallied.

3. Use your time wisely. If you have finished it all, you rock, work on the commercial movie maker project or mix tunes with Fruity Loops. The actual finished commercial will be due during the first week back, so those of you that are falling behind need to pick it up!!
