Once again Finishing.

April 30, 2007

Seniors
1. Today you must finish the Face Mixing Project. This project should also have a folder where you put the originals of the students that you used and then the final photo saved as a jpeg. Then put it in the T:drive Folder From Morton called Paintshop #2.
2. Remember to make two posts on your blog. One with your Photos 1-4 (from project 1) as thumbnails that can be blown up. The second post will be for the finished face mix photo.
3. Finished all this? You rock, again! A special project for you, one that you could win a prize for! Design a NO SMOKING ALLOWED sign (8.5 x 11) that does not use too many colours and can be installed at all School District #8 sites to create awareness. There should also be some space on the page for a copy of the School District # 8 logo as well as the IHA logo. The Deadline is May 11th at noon.

Juniors
1. Finish up Paintshop Project # 1. Remember to have one folder titled "YourInitialsPaintshop 1" with the following files: 01.jpg, 02.jpg, 03.jpg, original.jpg, photo1.jpg, photo2.jpg, photo3.jpg, photo4.jpg
2. Save the folder in the T:drive From Morton folder and email a zipped folder to calebmorton2001@yahoo.ca
3. Make a post with your 4 photos uploaded and a thumbnail created that can be enlarged upon clicking.
4. Begin to make a No smoking sign/logo that fits on a regular sheet of paper. Most likely Microsoft word and Jasc Paint should be used.

Let’s go…seniors!

April 27, 2007

1. Thanks for making intelligent comments about yesterday’s movie clips…it seems far off…but remember that not a single human had thought of a flying machine before Da Vinci. No one had any idea of the INTERNET in the early 1900s. The only thing you can be certain of is that change will occur, what kind of changes depends on a multitude of intertwined factors.

2. Most of you have got Paintshop Project #1 in…if you don’t marks are seriously being lost…daily…starting three days ago.

3. You have only 1 more class after this one to finish the Face Mixing Project. This project should also have a folder where you put the originals of the students that you used and then the final photo saved as a jpeg. Then put it in the T:drive Folder From Morton called Paintshop #2.

4. Make two posts on your blog. One with your Photos 1-4 (from project 1) as thumbnails that can be blown up. The second post will be for the finished face mix photo.

5. You will receive plenty of bonus marks for this as well.

Remember that just because you haven’t seen it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

Listen up, I’m not kidding.

April 26, 2007

I want you to find some headphones.

I want you to take a moment out of a busy school day.

I want you to ignore everything and everyone around you for just a moment.

…now…leave me a comment….

…if you don’t know what to do next I am at a loss…

Go Seniors!

April 25, 2007

1. That’s right, read the instructions carefully about how to properly name all the files, copy them to the T:drive, and zip them up for an email. Marks will be lost for inappropriate file names and file types. All files should be saved as jpegs.

2. You should be working on Paintshop Project # 2: Face Mixing. Mix five faces. Save them as jpegs. Upload them to your blog as thumbnails that can be enlarged when clicked on.

Cheerios.

Finishing Time…

April 24, 2007

1. Finish the 2nd blog evaluations.

11/2. Finish the Paintshop Project #1 if you are Gr.9.

2. Finish the Paintshop Projects # 1 & 2 if you are Gr. 11/12!

That’s all folks.

PS. You will not receive full marks for the paintshop project if you have not:
A. Made a folder titled: ‘YourInitialsPaintshop 1″
B. Name each file appropriately: 01, 02,03, Original, Photo 1, Photo 2, Photo 3, Photo 4 (that’s it, that’s all…nothing more, nothing less)
C. All images must be saved as .jpeg images
D. One, only one, word document that explains what 3 effects were used on each photo.

Term 1 over…

April 23, 2007

Your Jegs Tests have not been marked…crazy busy weekend, however, your term 1 marks have been handed in and now term 2 officially begins. Therefore, the test will be a part of your term 2 marks.

1. Today you should be quickly fixing up your blogs, as well as evaluating each other’s blogs. There are quite a few interesting ones out there so get some headphones and enjoy each other’s personal spaces. If you think that people may not mark your blog correctly because they will miss certain entries TITLE THEM BOLDLY. For example, many people will not know which video link or embedded video is for the funny video or favorite video so write the title FAVORITE MOVIE.

2. Once you have handed in your evaluations you may continue to work on the Paintshop Project #1, which involved the 4 different photos with a total of 12 effects, besides the merging of 3 photos to make the first original. Remembe to name everything properly (it counts for marks). Remember to save your images as JPEG-JIF.

3. If you have finished the first project then you must be working on Project #2…the face mix…make these new faces as real as possible.

The Big Test

April 19, 2007

It has been a long time coming. Are you ready? Did you take at least a look at the assignments? Leave a comment telling me the truth.

Remember your grade break down: 60% Assignments 25% Tests 15% Participation

Once you finish the test it is time for Blog Evaluation #2…so you better have your blog ready…and be ready to use my old criteria sheet for marking.

Once that is done you may finish the 1st Paint project, then begin the 2nd if you are an older student. The grade 9’s should be watching Marissa give one more lesson.

Face mixing for the Older Gang

April 18, 2007

So, you are getting pretty good at this Jasc thing, right? Let’s see what you can do with some pictures of each other’s faces. A couple of years back my chinese students took photos of a group of teachers, mix matched our eyes, foreheads, hair, etc. and produced the following shots:

And then they were all put into one collage:

I would like you to produce a similar collage but with student faces. Let’s see who can create the most beautiful person or perhaps the scariest person from a combination of people.

Go Grade 9s!

April 17, 2007

Today is your day! Grade 11 & 12s do your thing, get the Paintshop Project done, then check over your blog and the Marking Criteria for it, then enjoy a little free time.

GRADE 9s…Marissa is going to give you a private lesson on Jasc Paintshop Pro 8. Circle around the teacher station and get ready for a little preview. Your next project, the 4 photos will be due at the end of Tuesday’s class.

ALL GRADES…your Jegs Test will be Thursday so review all the packages you did.

A reminder that marks are due the end of this week, some of you are NOT passing because you have NOT handed in everything, time is almost up.

Today & Tomorrow

April 16, 2007

You have this class and the next to get your 4 photos finished. It is a very open ended project so make it creative and obviously very very cool. Once this is complete you should review your Jegs Works Assignments as there is a test either Wednesday or Thursday THIS week. Are you ready for it? It will be composed of questions directly from the worksheets.

Also be ready for the next Blog Evaluations. Click on the ‘Marking Scheme’ link to see how you’ll be graded…and obviously get everything caught up if you haven’t already.

That’s all folks.
